On August 18 2021, Purple Tree's inaugural Fellowship began. Tropical Rain, Death-Scented Kiss is the winner of the 2020 Singapore International Film Festival's Southeast Asian Film Lab's Fellowship Prize.
Charlotte Hong, who won the 2020 prize for her film had her first session with acclaimed novelist and winner of the Singapore Literature Prize, Amanda Lee Koe.
The film offers a deeply personal, intimate and spiritual look at female identity in the post-millennial world. It blends visual arts, animation and cinematic storytelling in a unique genre-defying way.
